Passion in Ministry: Seeing lives be transformed and people get connected/re-connected with God. Love to preach as long as it is 1) Biblical; 2) Relevant; 3)Understandable.
Love to Do When Not at Church: Spending time with family. Running. Playing Tennis. Watching sports and playing fantasy sports. Reading. Writing. Music. Spending time with others within our broader community.
The Last Word: "Until he comes again or calls me home, you can find me filling, not killing time, so that one day he will pick me out in the lineup of the ages as one of his own. And then...it will be worth it all...to hear these words, the most precious words I can ever hear: Well done, thou good and faithful...Out-of-Control Disciple." (Leonard Sweet)
A Little Background: Born in Jacksonville, Texas, graduated Fort Sam Houston, Cole High School (79), Sam Houston (83). After 6 years in the Army, I returned to Jacksonville, attended UT Tyler, received an MA in Public Administration (95) and met my wife Kristi. We moved to Palestine where I worked as a police officer. I took an early retirement from policing in response to God's call on my life. We moved to Kentucky to attend Asbury Theological Seminary. Returning to Texas, my family and I have been a part of the Faith community since 2010.
Family: Married to Kristi for the best years of my life...I know, I am blessed. Our daughter Abigail is a passionate artist, writer, trumpet player and friend. Abbi is a student at Trinity University in San Antonio.
Passion in Ministry: I love helping others discern for themselves the steadfast truths of our ever present God. I love to engage in discussion with, and help others as we confront the challenging questions of faith and life. I am following a lifelong calling to inclusion and justice issues, seeking to work that out following the example of Jesus. I love being Methodist because we are a practical people, we believe that a life of faith works itself out through our hands and deeds, we are a missional people.
Love to Do When Not at Church: Anything with my family, we love exploring our surroundings. Kristi and I are unrepentant baseball fans. I spend time reading every chance I get. I love working with my hands, building, repairing or just being creative.
