Kairos Team Service Opportunity

Kairos Prison Ministry at Hightower Unit in Dayton, TX

Matthew 25:37-40

The righteous will say "When, Lord, did we ever see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink? When did we ever see a stranger and welcome you in our homes, or naked and clothe you? When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you? The King will reply,

"I tell you, whenever you did this for the least of these brothers of mine, you did it for Me."

What is Kairos Prison Ministry?

Kairos Prison Ministry is a Christian, volunteer lay-led, ecumenical Prison Ministry. A team of 35-40 volunteers share the love, grace, mercy and forgiveness of Jesus Christ with those incarcerated. We share meals, prayer and fellowship with 42 offenders over a 3 ½ day weekend. Lives are changed so that many of the offender participants return to free-world society as law-abiding, productive citizens.

walk to Emmaus

The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The program's approach seriously considers the model of Christ's servanthood and encourages Christ's disciples to act in ways appropriate to being "a servant of all." The Walk to Emmaus® gets its name from the story in Luke 24:13-35, which provides the central image for the three-day experience and follow-up.

Please email Ed & Judy Lee if you are interested in: participating in a walk, attending a weekend spiritual retreat, or learning more about Walk to Emmaus.

If you have been on a Walk to Emmaus retreat and would like to help with one, visit hnec.org and fill out a Team Interest Form.

Montgomery County Food Bank

Faith is continuing to help Montgomery County Food Bank by bringing in the items most needed. Those items are: canned meat, canned vegetables, canned fruit and canned or long life milk. They are always grateful for these specific items. If these are not donated they have to purchase them.
