For as long as there have been Methodist communities there has been a tradition of caring engagement in church as well as in the broader communities in which they have existed. When we say that we are a church of "Open Hearts, Open Minds and Open Doors" we are affirming a commitment to remove barriers between ourselves and our community and to engage in life giving ministry with all who would join with us. To live into this Christ like posture, as individuals and as a community of faith, we meet in the midst of the struggles of this life with all who seek refuge and community. Our call to follow Christ here at Faith UMC calls us into ministry with and for all who seek the fullness of life in Christ, despite the struggles of the the world in which we live and difficult moments along the way.
Open Hearts is a caring and support group committed to creating safe space within the Church for LGBTQI persons, their families, friends and allies. Our present culture is full of voices claiming to be experts on the intersection of faith and sexuality/gender. However we believe that those best able to speak with wisdom to the truth are those who experience the reality. Our mission is to open space beyond the noise, where holy conversation can occur and all are free to be, to learn, to question within a supportive loving community, sharing our faith journeys. There is no requirement to be a member of the church or any other church to participate in Open Hearts. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 7;00 to 9:00pm in the Community Room. If you have question or need additional information please email email@example.com
At Faith we believe that God's sustaining love flows through our shared life as community. In the embrace of the community we find strength to face and overcome the trial of this life. Our grief support group is open to any and all who are experiencing grief in any way, regardless of how recent or distant the source of your grief may be. Together we make space to wrestle with, to question, and feel supported in our journeys. Our meetings focus on fellowship and opportunities to offer one another support and encouragement as we live with our grief. We will meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm in room 102. For additional questions or information contact Pastoral Intern Trey Burns by email firstname.lastname@example.org
MATTS is a caring and support ministry for moms of teens. We meet monthly to spend time in laughing, encouraging, supporting and nurturing each other as we wrestle with the realities of raising a teen in this ever challenging world. If you are the mom of a tween or teen and would love to share the experience, wisdom, failures and successes of other moms in the same boat then join us. We meet monthly at various locations, share a meal and share our lives. If you have questions or need to know our next meeting and location please email email@example.com
