"Down to Earth" Church Wide Advent Study
Have we ever really grasped the miracle that took place in Jesus' birth? Join us for a very special church-wide Advent Study, Down To Earth, as we explore what the Christmas miracle means to each of us. Using story and scripture, we will be challenged to respond during Advent with down-to-earth love, humility, lifestyle, and obedience. There will be a video, pastoral-led teaching and group discussion. Books are available for $5. Please register online. Adults will meet in the Community Room. Children and Youth will also be following the same study at 10:15 in Children's Church and in Youth ConnecTime.

This family event will be held right after the 11:15 worship service in the Community Room. First, we will all enjoy a light lunch followed by creating our own Advent wreath. During this event, Pastor Jennifer will lead us in explaining how Advent helps us prepare for the Christmas season and answer any questions you might have. Sunday, December 8 at 6:00 pm – Christmas Cantata - Festival of Lessons & Carols
The Festival of Lessons & Carols is a service of scripture and song. We will listen to nine scripture lessons which recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to preach the Good News. Each lesson is followed by a carol or other song that reflects the lesson's message and a brief prayer.

Santa will be making a special visit to Faith!. We will have a pancake breakfast along with an opportunity for everyone to take their picture with Santa, so be sure to bring your camera. This is a come and go event. We will also have a craft for the children to make.
Saturday, December 14 at 6:30 pm - Annual Christmas Dinner
You are cordially invited to the annual Christmas dinner. At 6:30 pm there will be hors d’oeuvres in the foyer. Dinner will be served at 7:00 pm. For reservations, which will be $5 per person, see Lorena or Diane in the church office. Payment can be made on-line at faithumcspring.org/donations/payments. Last day for reservations is Sunday, December 8. This event is sponsored by our UM Men & Women.

Sunday, December 15 at 6:00 pm - Children’s Christmas Service
Faith Theater presents “Charlie Brown Christmas” with a twist! During the children’s service, Pastor Harry will begin by speaking into the Christmas Story. Then our drama team will present, “Charlie Brown Christmas” with a twist. This will be an interactive play with the children in the audience. We will also have glow sticks for the children to use instead of candles for the candlelight portion of the service.
Sunday, December 22 at 6:00 pm – The Longest Night Service
Faith UMC will hold a Longest Night Service. This service will be a time for reflection, hope, and healing for those of us hurting during the holidays. It's also a chance for the rest of our church family to surround them with love and support. All are welcome - please join us.
Tuesday, December 24 - Christmas Eve Services 2:00, 5:00, & 8:00 pm
Join us for one of our three services as we celebrate Christ’s birth. Service times are: 2:00, 5:00, and 8:00. All three services will include candlelight and communion. Childcare is available for all of these services.

To Join Media Team
We need volunteers who can give their time to do both slides and sound. The slides are prepared in ProPresenter 6 (training available). Volunteers will need to be able to do media for both services on their rotating Sunday and may be periodically needed at other times throughout the year. The Chat Group – Wednesdays

This group meets on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays at 11:00 am. It is for those who have lost loved ones and would like to be able to talk with others who have experienced the same loss. It is a time to be able to share with others. All who have lost loved ones are welcome. If you have any questions or concerns, call Rosie Johnsen at 281-251-6496.
OASIS - Older Adults Still in Service - Wednesdays at 10:00 am
OASIS is a senior-focused ministry for men and women who are in their “golden years” of 65-ish and older. "Reflections on the Lectionary Readings" meets on Wednesday mornings at 10:00. No preparation needed. Feel free to bring your Bibles, or we will have handouts available in class that have the scripture reading for next Sunday.

Montgomery County Food Bank
Did you know that one in four children are food insecure in Montgomery County? The Buddy Backpack Program provides nutritious kid-friendly food during the weekend for children who are at-risk of hunger. Faith UMC is collecting individual packages of tuna fish or chicken, ravioli, chili, mac & cheese, breakfast bars, granola bars, along with shelf stable milk, cereal and soup. We have a collection bin over by the kitchen.

UM Men exist to be in ministry to our local church and our community through working with other ministries of the church and being available to work and serve our church where needed. UM Men provides opportunities for Christian friendship and spiritual growth among the men of Faith UMC.
