Caring & Support Ministries

For as long as there have been Methodist communities there has been a tradition of caring engagement in church as well as in the broader communities in which they have existed.  When we say that we are a church of "Open Hearts, Open Minds and Open Doors"  we are affirming a commitment to remove barriers between ourselves and our community and to engage in life giving ministry with all who would join with us.  To live into this Christ like posture, as individuals and as a community of faith, we meet in the midst of the struggles of this life with all who seek refuge and community.  Our call to follow Christ here at Faith UMC calls us into ministry with and for all who seek the fullness of life in Christ, despite the struggles of the the world in which we live and difficult moments along the way.

  • Open Hearts

Open Hearts is a caring and support group committed to creating safe space within the Church for LGBTQI persons, their families, friends and allies.  Our present culture is full of voices claiming to be experts on the intersection of faith and sexuality/gender.  However, we believe that those best able to speak with wisdom to the truth are those who experience the reality.  Our mission is to open space beyond the noise, where holy conversation can occur and all are free to be, to learn, to question within a supportive loving community, sharing our faith journeys.  There is no requirement to be a member of the church or any other church to participate in Open Hearts.  We meet on the second Monday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00pm in the Community Room.  If you have question or need additional information, please email

Montgomery County Food Bank

The Montgomery County Food Bank has partnered with Conroe ISD to ensure that children will be fed over the week-ends. This program enables elementary school children to discretely bring home seven weekend meals on Fridays concealed in a backpack.

Faith UMC is collecting for the Buddy Backpack Program. Pouches of tuna fish or chicken, ravioli, chili, breakfast bars, granola bars, trial size shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush and bath soap are in need, along with shelf stable milk, cereal and soup. Deliveries to the Food Bank are made every Monday morning.

The Chat Group

Wednesdays, 11:00 am

This group meets on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays at 11:00 am. It is for those who have lost loved ones and would like to be able to talk with others who have experienced the same loss. We are not doing grief counseling or therapy--it is a time to be able to share with others. All who have lost loved ones are welcome. If you have any questions or concerns, call Rosie Johnsen at 281-251-6496.
